Gemini Advanced subscribers will soon be able to create Gems — customized versions of Gemini. You can create any Gem you dream up: a gym buddy, sous chef, coding partner or creative writing guide.
They’re easy to set up, too. Simply describe what you want your Gem to do and how you want it to respond — like “you're my running coach, give me a daily running plan and be positive, upbeat and motivating.” Gemini will take those instructions and, with one click, enhance them to create a Gem that meets your specific needs.

Cursor: The AI-first Code Editor
How it works:
Cursor is an awesome, “AI-first” code editor that I learned of recently that you should check out, if you haven’t already. It blends advanced AI features with familiar coding environments and excels in real-time AI collaboration, offering capabilities like mid-line code completions and predictive editing based on your current project's context. It's built from the VSCode foundation, allowing seamless migration of your favorite extensions and settings, making it a robust platform for modern developers.
Why it’s worth your time:
To answer this, here are few things people are loving most about Cursor and why you might want to check it out with me!
“I just asked it to write a README for a project I've been working on - analyzed the code-base and worked first time.”
“started using Cursor yesterday & i'm blown away. it's how Copilot should feel. i'm completely off VSCode now.
great work @amanrsanger and @mntruell. two concrete examples:
1) it generated a new viewset for me using the correct schema of my django models that were mentioned in a completely different file
2) i asked it a timezone question about a crontab & it generated the answer in context in the correct place in my celerybeat schedule, again in a completely different file (~100 files in the whole project)
its awesome.”
